NEIMAN MARCUS WAVES THE WHITE FLAG

Less then a week ago Neiman Marcus was exposed for selling real fur in the state of California where fur has been banned state wide. Not only did they break state law – but also previous commitments to the grassroots animal rights movement.

Neiman Marcus thought they could get away with selling fur long after their fur-free policy went into effect – they thought wrong.

Once this reality was seen by grassroots campaigners activists came together to once again put the pressure on Neiman Marcus. 4 days later, after 8 protests in 7 cities Neiman Marcus Group re-commits to animal activists that they are done with fur.

Neiman Marcus Group Officer Eric Severson contacted CAFT USA at surrender@caftusa.org after reviewing an open letter from over 2 dozen grassroots organizations committed to re-launching the Neiman Carcass campaign if they did not re-commit to a fur-free policy.

Neiman surrendered.

Coordinated national action

The grassroots animal rights movement is multitudes stronger when we work together. Our opponents are national and international. They thrive when we are divided. By choosing a common target, we achieve real results for animals.

This victory is thanks to the dedication of independent local groups on the ground in New York, DC, Orlando, Chicago, Boston, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles.

We did this together. We did it for the animals. And with movement unity, we will do it again.
